On the morning of December 12, the construction of the northern section of the first longitudinal road of the Guangfo (Fogang) Industrial Park in the Guangqing Special Economic Cooperation Zone officially started. The first longitudinal road is the key puzzle of the park's transportation network and the lifeline of the park's economic construction and development. After the road is completed, it will greatly optimize the park's transportation pattern, boost the development confidence of enterprises, and enhance the core competitiveness of the park.

The existing access road to the park can no longer meet the needs of enterprises

The construction of the northern section of the first longitudinal road is imperative.

Nowadays, the only way to enter the Guangfo (Fogang) Industrial Park is to drive on Provincial Highway 354, which is only accessible to two lanes and is curved. As more and more companies are entering the park, traffic congestion has been criticized by companies.

After five years of development, the Guangzhou-Foshan (Fogang) Industrial Park has formed four pillar industries: biomedicine, new materials, fine chemicals, and intelligent equipment manufacturing. At present, the park has signed contracts with 148 companies, 47 companies have been put into production, and 38 companies are under construction.

With the gradual increase in the number of companies and employees in the park, in order to better meet the actual needs of corporate cargo transportation and employee travel, and to narrow the distance between the park and the Greater Bay Area, the construction of the Yizong North Road project is imminent.

Since the preparation of the Yizong North Road project, the park management committee has attached great importance to it and coordinated various departments to implement the division of responsibilities. With the joint efforts of various departments of the management committee and the active support of the Fogang County Party Committee and the County Government, key issues such as land acquisition, demolition and expansion, land quota implementation, temporary land handling, and construction funding guarantees for the project have been resolved one by one, ensuring the smooth start of the project.

Strive to complete the construction and open to traffic before the Spring Festival in 2026

The first longitudinal road of the entrance avenue of Guangzhou-Foshan (Fogang) Industrial Park is about 4.2 kilometers long, with a total investment of about 406.8 million yuan. It starts from National Highway 106 and ends at Provincial Highway 354. It has six lanes in both directions and is designed according to the standards of urban trunk roads. It is understood that the construction of the first longitudinal road connecting Provincial Highway 354 for about 1.7km has been completed.

The first longitudinal road connecting National Highway 106 for about 2.5km was officially started on December 12, with a design speed of 60km/h. After the completion of this project, the traffic capacity of Guangzhou-Foshan (Fogang) Industrial Park will be comprehensively improved. Not only will it save about 10 minutes from the park to National Highway 106, but the drainage system of the park will be further improved, providing strong guarantees for the material transportation and safe production of enterprises entering the park.

County Mayor Jiang Hongping said that the first longitudinal road of Guangzhou-Foshan (Fogang) Industrial Park is the key road connecting the north and south of the park, and it is also the core artery of the product logistics of enterprises in the park. Its construction is of great and far-reaching significance. The park should seize development opportunities, gather joint efforts to tackle key problems, and fully promote project construction on the premise of ensuring quality and safety, so as to ensure that the project is completed, operated and effective as soon as possible. The functional departments of Fogang County Party Committee and County Government should actively coordinate resources from all parties, strengthen the guarantee of land, funds, technology and other factors, and promote the acceleration and efficiency of project construction with efficient execution and coordination.
